  • About the Speakers:

  • Dr. David Freedman is currently the Vice-President and a Founding Partner of Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic, LLC and has been practicing at the Leisure World location since 1988. Dr. Freedman was recognized by his peers nationally as “VIP DPMs 2017-Movers and Shakers: America’s Most Influential Podiatrist,” he is a past President of the Maryland State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners, past Chairman, 9th and 10th Annual CAC/PIAC meeting of the American Podiatric Medical Association, a coding committee advisor to the American Podiatric Medical Association, and a CAC Podiatry Representative for Maryland. Dr. David Freedman is active in the Olney and Rockville communities by supporting various organizations, such as Olney Boys and Girls Club and Rockville Baseball activities. He has 3 grown children (Bonnie, Dan and Molly), a son in law (Mark), and 2 grandchildren (Sophie and Madden)! He loves to read in his spare time, exercise regularly especially running daily and play golf. Certifications: Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) in foot surgery; Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons; Fellow of the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons; Certified Professional Coder from the American Academy of Professional Coders; Certified Professional Medical Auditor from the American Academy of Professional Coders; Certified Surgical Foot and Ankle Coder from the American Academy of Professional Coders .
  • Jen Searfoss has over twenty years of practice in healthcare with significant experience in compliance, legal issues, quality and analytics, communications, marketing and bi-partisan grassroots citizen engagement using real-world approaches to problem solving and proven experience to meet the challenges of the fast-paced, politically charged medical industry. * Founder of two companies serving the medical community for legal and consulting services. * Executive Director of the Cardiology Advocacy Alliance, a non-profit organization engaging cardiology practices in grassroots federal advocacy. * Liaison on behalf of all seven UnitedHealth Group companies to national, state and local medical and administrative associations addressing Administrative Simplification and other non-clinical initiatives. * Manager of the MGMA private payer advocacy office and the Government Affairs intern program. * Professor of graduate and undergraduate-level courses on health policy, health law, international relations and politics at nationally recognized universities. * Strategic business sense, unparalleled public speaking talent, uncompromising work ethic and natural sincerity have helped create consistent political outcomes and have won loyal support and motivation of employees, association members and government decision-makers.
