    Allen Jacobs, DPM – Scientific Chair

    Dr. Jacobs is a 1973 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine. He is board certified in reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. For 25 years, Dr. Jacobs served as a Director of Podiatric Surgical Residency Training; and has also served as a contributing editor to the Journal of Foot Surgery, Podiatry Today, Foot and Ankle Quarterly and Clinics in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. He is a nationally recognized author, researcher and a noted authority of surgery of the foot.

    Matthew Feldman, JD

    Mr. Feldman is admitted to practice in New York State Courts as well as United States Federal and Bankruptcy Courts for the Western District of New York. Mr. Feldman is a member of the New York State Bar Association and Erie County Bar Association. Mr. Feldman serves as General Counsel to the New York State Podiatric Medical Association, and as a Board-member for the Lewiston Public Library and Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Mr. Feldman has been recognized by Best Lawyers® and rated by Super Lawyers®.

    Michael Warshaw, DPM

    As a practicing board certified Podiatrist and Certified Professional Coder Dr. Warshaw’s experience is unique and comprehensive with over 25 years of successful coding, management, and training experience for podiatrists. In addition to serving as a national lecturer concerning appropriate billing, coding, and documentation guidelines Dr. Warshaw has the additional advantage of participating in all facets of the Medicare Appeals Process, including Redeterminations, Reconsiderations, Administrative Law Judge Hearings, as well as the appeals processes of most commercial insurance companies and state Medicaid programs.

    Ojectives of this proram:

  • To be able to apply sound medical and ethical principles when providing palliative podiatric care.
  • To be able to develop appropriate care plans for a patient with a wound who is on palliative care
  • To understand the informed consent process for a patient who is impaired
  • To understand how to address conditions that are no-win situations due to the complexity of the medical problem and the patients medical condition
  • To develop appropriate care plans for patients who are in care facilities
