Course Overview
Lecture focuses on primarily CN and medial STJ coalitions. Clinical and Radiographic findings and other diagnostic factors will be presented. Surgical approach to the CN bridge and STJ bar will be discussed as well as conservative and post op considerations.

Identify the clinical presentation and radiographic findings associated with calcaneonavicular (CN) and medial talocalcaneal (TC) tarsal coalitions to support accurate diagnosis

Differentiate diagnostic and management considerations for calcaneonavicular and medial talocalcaneal coalitions using clinical examination findings and imaging studies

Formulate appropriate treatment strategies for CN and medial TC coalitions, including indications for surgical resection, operative approach, and postoperative management

About the Speaker
H. John Visser, DPM
Dr. Visser graduated Pi Delta, with a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the Kent State School of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, OH. He then matriculated from a three-year Residency program in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Lindell Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Visser is a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. He served as the Director of Residency Training in Foot and Ankle Surgery at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center from 1985 until 2015 when the hospital closed. He was appointed Director of Residency Training in Foot and Ankle Surgery at SSM DePaul Health Center, Bridgeton, MO in 2012. He served as Director of both programs until 2015. He then was appointed sole Director at SSM DePaul.
