Course Overview
This lecture provides a practical overview of the clinical, documentation, and compliance considerations involved in dispensing surgical dressings directly to patients within a podiatric practice. Participants will learn to identify qualifying pathologies, distinguish between commonly used dressing types based on clinical indications, and document medical necessity to support the dispensing of advanced wound care products such as collagen powder. The program will also address the essential components of establishing and maintaining a compliant in-office surgical dressing program that promotes appropriate patient care while meeting applicable regulatory and documentation requirements.

About the Speaker
Jeffrey Lehrman, DPM, FASPS, MAPWCA, CPC, CPMA
Dr. Lehrman is a podiatrist practicing in Fort Collins, CO. He is a Certified Professional Coder and Certified Professional Medical Auditor. He serves as a staff liaison at the AMA CPT® Editorial Panel meetings. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, Fellow of the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons, and is recognized as a “Master” by the American Professional Wound Care Association. Dr Lehrman is a Past Director of the American Professional Wound Care Association Board of Directors and is a Past Chairman of the Board of the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons. Dr. Lehrman is also on the editorial advisory board of the journal WOUNDS.
