Patient-Centered Compression: Improving Quality of Life and Adherence - Jeffrey Lehrman, DPM, FASPS, MAPWCA, CPC, CPMA
Patient-Centered Compression: Improving Quality of Life and Adherence
Course Overview
Lower extremity compression is an essential element of caring for venous leg disease, venous leg ulcers, and lower extremity lymphedema. For providers to expect successful outcomes with these pathologies, patients must be able to tolerate the compression that is dispensed or prescribed. If the compression garment provided to the patient cannot be applied or tolerated, chances of success are poor. This session will focus on lower extremity compression that patients can realistically apply and remove themselves, as well as tolerate throughout the day. The coverage guidelines and documentation requirements associated with providing this compression will also be discussed.
