Learning Objectives: At the end of the educational program, the learner will be able to:

  • Be able to identify patients in need of a 3D bunion correction.
  • Know and understand the surgical principles of 3D bunion correction.
  • Understand how to use the appropriate temporary and permanent fixation with a 3D bunion correction.
  • Evaluate all planes of failure.
  • Obtain full clinical and radiographic evaluation.
  • Identify causes of failure and the best ways to address planes of deformity.

    Dr. Shi currently practices with Sutter Health in Oakland and Castro Valley, California. He is Board Certified by the American board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle and Foot Surgery.

    Matthew D. Doyle, DPM , MS , FACFAS

    About the Speaker:

    Matthew D. Doyle, DPM , MS , FACFAS

    Dr. Doyle is a board certified, fellowship-trained podiatric foot and ankle surgeon. He completed his residency at Kaiser San Francisco Bay Area Foot and Ankle and fellowship at the Silicon Valley Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Fellowship in Mountain View, CA. Currently, he works for the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, is the director of podiatric medical education for St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco, and is faculty for AO North America.
