  • 1. Demonstrate an understanding of when a double first ray fusion may be an appropriate procedure.
  • 2. Review the evidence on the outcomes of TMT arthrodesis and MTP arthrodesis
  • 3. Describe the utilization of 3 dimensional correction for a double first ray fusion for failed bunion surgery
  • 4. Demonstrate knowledge of multimodal pain management for bunion surgery

    About the Speaker:

    Mindi Dayton, DPM

    Doctor Dayton completed her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at the Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery (DMU-CPMS). She then completed a Podiatric Surgical Residency at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa. In 2017, Dr. Dayton, along with her husband, Dr. Paul Dayton, established Midwest Bunion Centers and Foot & Ankle Center of Iowa/Bunion Surgery Specialists, with the goal of expanding research and development of innovative techniques for foot and ankle surgery and providing high quality care to patients in Iowa and the surrounding states. Dr. Dayton is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rear foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Dayton has been very active in medical education and research throughout her years of practice. Dr. Dayton has co-authored many peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters and has presented numerous local and regional lectures. She regularly lectures at seminars and conference across the country. Dr. Dayton has been elected or appointed to many leadership positions during her career including the Iowa Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners, President and Board Member of the Iowa Podiatric Medical Association, Young Physician Liaison to the American Podiatric Medical Association Board of Trustees, Chairperson of the Heartland Foot and Ankle Conference Assistants Committee, and the ABFAS Continuous Certification Committee.
