About the Speaker:
Dr. Jacobs is a 1973 Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency in surgery at Monsignor Clement Kern Hospital for special surgery in Warren, Michigan in 1975. Dr. Jacobs is in private practice in St. Louis, Missouri. He is board certified in reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. For 25 years, Dr. Jacobs served as a Director of Podiatric Surgical Residency Training; and has also served as a contributing editor to the Journal of Foot Surgery, Podiatry Today, Foot and Ankle Quarterly and Clinics in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. Additionally, Dr. Jacobs has served as the Scientific Chairman of the American Podiatric Medical Association, The Missouri Podiatry Society, and on the Journal Management Committee of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He was the first podiatrist to receive the rank of Fellow by Temple University. He was voted a Lifetime Achievement Award and to The Podiatry Hall of Fame. He has received numerous awards from the APMA and ACFAS for his dedication to podiatry and podiatric education, as well as recognition from the governors of Missouri, Arkansas and Massachusetts. He has published over 80 scientific articles in various publications and 17 chapter contributions in various textbooks, and has presented over 1000 papers at podiatric and medical society meetings. In addition to his practice, Dr. Jacobs maintains a free educational website, www.centerforpodiatriceducation.com, with open access to students, residents and practitioners of podiatric medicine and surgery. He is a nationally recognized author, researcher and a noted authority of surgery of the foot.
About the Speaker:
Michael G. Warshaw, DPM, CSFAC, CPC, CPODCS, COCS, CMSCS is a practicing podiatrist and a Certified Professional Coder with over 25 years of successful coding, management, and training experience for podiatric practices.
His local and national views come from active participation as a practicing podiatrist, having the distinction of being a Certified Professional Coder, and years of serving as a national lecturer concerning coding issues.
Dr. Warshaw's experience is unique and comprehensive. He has had the additional advantage of participating in all facets of the Medicare Appeals Process, including Redeterminations, Reconsiderations, and Administrative Law Judge Hearings, as well as the appeals processes of most commercial insurance companies and state Medicaid programs. Dr. Warshaw has also served as an expert witness in the actual court system, at both the federal and state levels.
Dr. Warshaw is also the author of THE Podiatry Coding Manual, a comprehensive coding manual specific for podiatry that is updated on an annual basis.
This unique prospective provides Dr. Warshaw with the ability to provide solutions to insurance and coding problems from 'real world' experience.
Dr. Warshaw is committed to assist practices in learning to code appropriately, obtain the proper reimbursement, and to avoid the wrath of the carriers by coding and billing in an appropriate fashion.
Vincent Sollecito DPM
Dr. Sollecito began working in private practice in 1981
and has worked in wound care centers since 1997. Dr. Sollecito is devoted to
sharing information with the podiatry community and has been well-versed in
conducting lectures since 1997. He is also an active member of various
associations, some of which include the American Board of Foot and Ankle
Surgery, American College of Foot & Ankle Surgery, the American College of
Certified Wound Specialist, the American Podiatric Medical Association, the
American Professional Wound Care, and the American Diabetes Association. His
interests include sports medicine and diabetic foot and wound care.
Anish Thomas MD
Anish J. Thomas, MD is an Interventional Cardiologist with
Mercy Clinic Heart and Vascular practicing at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis. He
is Board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Vascular
and Endovascular Medicine. In addition to interventional cardiology and
structural heart procedures, Dr. Thomas specializes in complex peripheral vascular
interventions for limb preservation, carotid artery stenting, and is passionate
about amputation prevention in peripheral artery disease.
John Holtzman DPM
Dr. Holtzman completed a surgical residency in
reconstructive foot and ankle surgery through Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis,
MO. He has been in private practice since 1999 He has remained active in the
local residency program, training the residents for their future in Podiatry. Being
devoted to the practice of Podiatry, Dr. Holtzman became a Board Certified
Podiatrist who is an active member of the American College of Foot and Ankle
Surgeons, American Podiatric Medical Association, and the Missouri
Podiatric Medical Association.
